"A striking Cumbrian barn conversion offering three stylish apartments with outstanding income potential"
The Property
The Barn offers a rare opportunity to secure a fantastic barn conversion containing three superb apartments in a magnificent setting. The property currently operates as a residential letting business but could equally operate as holiday lets. Nestled in the glorious Cumbrian countryside of the south-western Lakes, the location is a huge draw for visitors looking for a place to escape to.
The substantial barn has been converted with great attention to detail to create apartments that are perfect for modern requirements, with open plan living and all bedrooms benefitting from en-suite facilities. There is a separate games room which could continue to be used for this purpose or alternatively could offer an inviting communal dining area.
The three flats are all very well-appointed and have been finished with simple, elegant décor that adds to the relaxing atmosphere. The kitchens are fitted with a range of appliances. The ground floor flat is fully furnished, so the fitted kitchen appliances comprise induction hob, oven, combination microwave oven and cooker hood, along with a fridge/freezer, washing machine and dishwasher. The first and second floor flats each have an induction hob, oven combination microwave oven and cooker hood. All of the bathrooms in the apartments have beautiful contemporary suites.
There is wooden laminate flooring in the ground floor flat, and wood-effect luxury vinyl tile flooring in the first and second floor flats to reduce noise. The ground floor and first floor flats both have their own decked areas with non-slip flooring and electrics in place for a hot tub. These areas are perfect to enjoy the pretty surroundings. The first floor and second floor flats each have a Juliette balcony which affords them excellent views of the Duddon Estuary and the Irish Sea.
Each of the properties has access to parking.

Local Information
The property is well-positioned for exploring this beautiful area. The driveway to the properties continues as a footpath into the Whicham Valley towards the 600-metre high Black Combe. The adjacent Millom Park is perfect for woodland walks and the secluded beaches at Haverigg and Silecroft are within a few minutes’ drive, as is the Hodbarrow RSPB reserve and the historic market town of Broughton-in-Furness, with its Georgian market square.
Nearby, there are pretty drives to the Duddon Valley that inspired Wordsworth to write 34 sonnets, Corney Fell and Coniston Water. To the north, the coast road takes you to the coastal section of the Lake District National Park, Muncaster Castle, “La’al Ratty” steam railway, the former Roman port of Ravenglass, and picturesque Eskdale and Wasdale (home to Scafell Pike). Heading east, you’ll find the market town of Ulverston, the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway, the Medieval village of Cartmel and, from Lakeside, boat cruises on Windermere.
For schooling there is both primary and secondary schooling available in Millom, along with a nursery. There are train links from Millom just a short drive from High Lowscales, with local trains to Lancaster, and onward to all national centres.
