For our fellow green thumbs out there, May can only mean one thing: The Chelsea Flower Show. Set on the banks of the River Thames from 19th to 23rd May, the event is the largest flower show in the world and aims to inspire, educate and excite visitors about horticulture. Unfortunately, not all of us can make the pilgrimage to the capital to enjoy it, so we’ve curated a list of properties with flower gardens so good, you won’t be as disappointed you missed out.
So, take a peek. We assure you the properties below are bloomin’ lovely… too much? Maybe.
The Mill House, Sebergham, Carlisle, Cumbria

Perched on the edge of the peaceful village of Sebergham in Cumbria, The Mill House boasts gardens even the most acclaimed horticulturalist would envy.
Once you’ve basked in the glory of the Grade II Listed former water mill, head out to the garden that feels like a world unto itself. Beautifully designed and lovingly maintained, the south-facing grounds are a colourful tapestry of herbaceous borders, a productive potager, and a wildflower-filled orchard. A sandstone terrace offers a sunny spot for outdoor dining, while a millstream winds through the gardens, feeding a natural pond.
Beyond the immediate garden lies a wilder beauty. A sprawling wildflower meadow, encircled by the River Caldew, offers picturesque and private views, leading to a secluded gravel beach and tree-lined banks.
